Girls Retreat

All the sisters and sisters-in-law get together once a year (at least) for what we call our girls retreat. It is supposed to be a week of just girls and no babies, but we have yet to make that happen and we are still holding it in Vegas, but with high hopes to eventually move it all over the U.S. Jordan and I reached a nice compromise. I had Jack for Thursday night and Friday, and then he took Jack for the remainder of the weekend up to his parents house. Unfortunately, he also took the camera....so these are mainly pictures of Jordan and Jack's retreat. I am waiting for my Dad to send me pictures of our weekend!Jordan loved Girls Retreat because he was able to spend Friday morning out on the river fishing with his Dad.
Jack loved Girls Retreat because he was able to spend his weekend with Grandma Alesa! He enjoyed being with Grandma Alesa so much that he even learned how to roll over while he was at her house.
My retreat was spent getting a pedicure, eating out at Cheesecake Factory and Maggiano's, going to the show Mystere on the strip, doing yoga with Ginnie, staying up late and chatting with my sisters, and laying out by the pool and receiving a terrible sun burn that was spotted and has left me with terrible tan lines! I loved being with my sisters and can't wait till next year.
And we hope that Janene will be able to make it.

The Wright Boys

I couldn't resist posting these pictures because these little boys are too cute. This weekend we went up to my sister Heather's home in North Salt Lake and spent some time with her three boys. I know that she wants a little girl, but when your boys are as cute as hers one more wouldn't hurt! (I am just kidding because I desperately want a girl as well). While we were there Jordan managed to take these photos with the boys. Jordan woke up early and was studying in the living room when Quinn and Ben came tromping in at 7:15am, and immediately they turned on the TV. But they didn't watch the normal Saturday cartoons that most children their ages watch, they turned on their favorite show- Tivoed PGA tour golf. They love watching PRO Golf. After we had breakfast and played a half-finished game of Life the boys headed downstairs to get in their workout clothes because they love to exercise. Heather and Trent have an in-home gym and the boys take turns on the elliptical machine and the treadmill.
I love Quinn's face as he sweats off some calories! If this isn't motivation to get myself in shape, I don't know what is!

Ben (4) Expert resident golfer, lover of basketball, highest scoring player on his soccer team, and the best golfer on the wii.

Quinn (6) Pro status on Wii bowling, the only 6 year old that I know that can keep a running score of your bowling game in his head, his wii me character has pigtails, in-training for a 5k run.

Drew (2) loves to golf, has the vocabulary of a 5+ year old, he is just tiny but has the sass of a teenager.

Bear Cubs

Today we went to Sportsmans Warehouse in Midvale to go see some bear cubs that they had. Courtney(my sister) was kind enough to accompany us. Of course Jack had to wear his camo hoodie to see the cubs. The cub was only 2 months old but was just as cute as could be. We didn't get to hold him for long, but it was worth the trip and the $15 bucks for the picture. Which we actually got the second one free because as you can tell, Jack's face was covered by the cub in the first picture. I am sure that this will be one of Jack's fondest memories of his childhood.

Donated for Science

Yesterday Jack donated his brain to science. BYU is currently studying 5 month old infants and their ability to recognize patterns. They called me up and asked me if I wouldn't mind allowing Jack to participate in the study. So they put that crazy cap on his head and we watched a short video clip of caterpillars. They are supposed to send me the results within the week and I am sure it will say Genius! Surprisingly Jack didn't mind the hair piece and actually was smiling and quite interactive.

Not so Fat To Me!

Jack is growing so fast! We can hardly believe that he is already over 4 months old. At his check up, he weighed in at a hefty 17 lbs 14 oz. but we aren't breaking any height records. He has only grown 4 inches since he was born. Here are some of his latest pictures:

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Jack is nearing the end of his sickness for which we are grateful. The whole sick thing has been several things:

It was Good because he has been very snuggly lately. He snuggled up today and let me sing/read to him for over 20 mins. If you have ever heard my singing, you know that 20 mins. is a very long time for anyone to listen to my angelic voice.

It was Bad because my great sleeper (who has been sleeping through the night pretty much since Christmas) has now reverted back to waking up every three hours for a little mom comfort and nighttime snack.

It was just plain Ugly- his poor little cough and snotty nose.
